This English version is provided for convenience; the Polish version prevails.

- Definitions:
- App — the CityChat mobile app for iOS and Android, an AI-powered city guide;
- User — a natural person using the App;
- Account — the User's account created in the App;
- CityChat PRO — the paid subscription extending the service.
§2. Technical requirements
- Using the App requires a compatible mobile device — an iPhone running iOS 18 or later, or an Android device running Android 10 or later — internet access, and an App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google) account.
- Creating an Account requires an e-mail address (magic-link sign-in), or Sign in with Apple (iOS) or Sign in with Google (Android). Some features (e.g. chat, visual search) are available only after signing in.
- Location features and notifications require the relevant device permissions (iOS or Android); granting them is voluntary.
§3. Scope of services
- The free version of the App includes in particular: AI-powered city chat, visual search (recognising places from a photo and translating text in a photo), browsing and searching places, the map, and favourites. Free services may be subject to daily limits (e.g. chat messages and scans); current limits are shown in the App.
- CityChat PRO removes the limits indicated in the subscription description in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). The PRO scope is described in the App and in the relevant store.
- Chat answers and visual-search results are generated by artificial intelligence — see §6.
- Some places may be presented under paid promotion purchased by local businesses; such content is marked as sponsored in the App.
§4. Entering into and terminating the contract
- The contract for services provided by electronic means is concluded when the Account is created, for an indefinite period.
- The User may terminate the contract at any time by deleting the Account in the App's Settings or by e-mailing [email protected]. Account deletion is irreversible and covers the data described in the Privacy Policy.
- The operator may terminate the contract or suspend Account access in case of a material breach of §5, informing the User with reasons at the e-mail address linked to the Account.
§5. Acceptable use
- Supplying unlawful content is prohibited.
- The following are also prohibited: using the App in a way that disrupts its operation, circumventing limits or security measures, automated querying (bots, scraping), attempts to extract the AI models or other Users' data, and using the App for unlawful purposes.
§6. AI-generated content
- Chat answers and image recognition/translation results are generated automatically by AI models and may contain errors or outdated information.
- Information that matters to you (e.g. opening hours, prices, availability, entry rules) should be verified at the source. App content is not medical, legal, or financial advice.
§7. CityChat PRO — payments through the app store
- The CityChat PRO subscription is purchased exclusively in the App as an in-app purchase — via the App Store on iOS, or Google Play on Android. Current prices and billing periods are shown in the App and in the relevant store before purchase.
- Payments, renewals, cancellation, and refunds are handled by the store operator — Apple (under the Apple Media Services terms) on iOS, or Google (under the Google Play Terms of Service) on Android. You can cancel the subscription in your Apple account or Google Play subscription settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period.
- The operator does not collect payments directly and has no access to your payment details.
§8. Right of withdrawal
- A consumer may withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days without giving reasons (art. 27 of the Polish Consumer Rights Act of 30 May 2014, consolidated text: Dz.U. 2024 item 1796). For free services, deleting the Account or e-mailing [email protected] suffices.
- For CityChat PRO purchases made through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), withdrawal and refund rights are exercised towards Apple or Google respectively, under the relevant store's rules.
§9. Conformity of the digital service and liability
- The operator is liable for the conformity of the digital service with the contract under chapter 5b of the Polish Consumer Rights Act (arts. 43h–43q).
- The operator strives to keep the App available without interruption, but technical breaks may occur (maintenance, outages, third-party provider limitations). The nature of AI-generated content is described in §6.
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits consumer rights under mandatory provisions of law.
§10. Complaints
- Complaints about the App can be submitted to [email protected], describing the issue and indicating the Account's e-mail address.
- The operator responds within 14 days of receiving the complaint, to the e-mail address it was sent from.
- Consumers may also use out-of-court complaint and redress mechanisms, including municipal (district) consumer ombudsmen and the Trade Inspection (Inspekcja Handlowa) in Poland.
§11. Personal data
The processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
§12. Changes to these terms
- The operator may amend these terms for important reasons (changes in law, changes to the service scope, security reasons). Users are informed in the App or by e-mail at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
- A User who does not accept the changes may terminate the contract before they take effect (§4(2)).
§13. Final provisions
- Polish law applies, provided that consumers also enjoy the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of their country of habitual residence.
- In matters not regulated here, Polish law applies, including the Civil Code (consolidated text: Dz.U. 2025 item 1071), the Consumer Rights Act, and the Act on Providing Services by Electronic Means.
- These terms are available free of charge at citychat.pl/terms in a form that allows them to be obtained, reproduced, and stored. The English version is informational; the Polish version prevails.
